From October 28 to 30, 2025, the main campus of German Jordanian University (GJU) will host the Industrial Partnership Conference 2025 in Madaba. Under the patronage of Prof. Ala'aldeen Alhalhouli, President GJU, and organized by the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), the conference brought together national and international actors from science, industry, politics and entrepreneurship.
Under the motto”The Power of Partnerships: GJU Going Global“The conference aimed to further develop the network of industrial partnerships, strengthen cooperation between universities and industry and further expand German-Jordanian cooperation.
The GJU Project Office at Magdeburg-Stendal University was represented twice:
Lisa Westphal, corporate relations manager, took part in the panel discussion”Powering Progress – Industrial Partnerships for a Future-Ready GJU” Part. She emphasized that GJU was on a promising path to becoming a “natural partner” for industry — but that goal needed to be further expanded. For this, it is crucial to attract the right partners who, like Hadi Plast GmbH, want to actively and long-term participate in joint projects. In addition, the strategic orientation of industrial cooperation must be based even more closely on GJU's existing study programs. The priority is to expand a resilient corporate network that reliably offers GJU students internships and thus further strengthens the connection between theory and practice.
In addition to digital and professional skills, students particularly need intercultural openness. A personal learning from the”GJU Alumni Ambassador Meeting 2025“It is that all of us – whether students, corporate partners or teachers – are small ambassadors and share our values with the outside world. Universities that promote this attitude not only made their graduates employable, but indispensable in the best sense of the word.
Marie Dierck, Student Relations Manager, presented in her online presentation”Building Bridges: Alumni Engagement & Corporate Partnerships“That Alumni Ambassador Program and showed how alumni engagement sustainably strengthens the GJU corporate network. Alumni act as gate openers and bridge builders between GJU and its employers, represent their employers at GJU events such as Career Fairs or Alumni Talks, and share their practical knowledge with students. At the same time, companies are using these platforms to network, offer jobs and internships, and attract qualified graduates. This continuous exchange creates sustainable, mutually beneficial relationships that strengthen the entire GJU community – a network that is particularly dynamic at the annual GJU Alumni Ambassador Meeting.
“With our contribution, we are pleased to further deepen the connection between universities, industry and alumni and to shape the future of practice-oriented education together. ”
Conclusion
The Industrial Partnership Conference 2025 has clearly shown that cooperation between Jordan and Germany — and in particular between GJU and its partner institutes – has enormous potential. The GJU Project Office makes a decisive contribution to making this potential visible, strengthening networks and opening up new ways of joint design.
With a clear vision, strong partners and committed people on both sides, GJU remains on track to become a leading hub for applied sciences, innovation and practice-oriented education.
The GJU Project Office would also like to thank — among others — the German guests Dr. Nissrin Heymann, Dr. Karsten Anger, Tom Dieckmann, Tobias Schwiertz and Diana Ibrahim as well as the Innovation Club GJU, who contributed significantly to the success of the conference through their commitment.
