GJU Project Office and “Gründen im Grünen” Welcome the New Exchange Students Together
On October 16, 2025, the GJU Project Office warmly welcomed the new group of exchange students from the German Jordanian University at the Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal – this time with a sweet twist. Together with the university’s founder and transfer support program “Gründen im Grünen”, the traditional welcome lunch in the campus cafeteria was transformed into a shared soft-serve ice cream gathering.
Despite the crisp autumn air, the ice cream brought cheerful vibes, and during many relaxed conversations, the students received valuable information about their mandatory internships, regional company partners in Saxony-Anhalt, and their first steps in German student life. The founder support program also presented its diverse offerings for students, encouraging them to develop their own ideas and explore entrepreneurial spirit.
Alongside these exciting insights into the startup culture, the personal experiences of the students were a key focus. Translation student Ibrahim shared that he had already noticed significant improvements in his German skills after just his first month in Germany – a great example of how quickly theory and practice in language learning can come together. GJU alumnus Seif, who is now continuing his studies in Magdeburg, also participated in the event. Such encounters highlight the importance of networks between current and former GJU students – creating connections, guidance, and inspiration for future generations.
Lisa Westphal, Corporate Relations Manager at the GJU Project Office, also provided information about contacts with local companies and the next steps toward the upcoming internships. The get-together thus offered not only an opportunity to get to know each other but also an encouraging outlook on the months ahead in Germany.
