Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences (h2) ranks third nationwide, with around €4.8 million in scholarships, projects and programmes, which corresponds to €915 in DAAD funding per student.
A large part of the funds goes into German Jordanian University (GJU): In 2024, around €2.7 million was available for scholarship programmes alone, enabling a total of 665 scholarships to be awarded.
700 to 800 GJU students from Jordan spend two compulsory semesters in Germany every year (German Year): one semester studying at a partner university and one semester gaining practical experience in a company. The network, which has been managed since 2005 by Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences and the German Jordanian University project office based at the university, now comprises around 120 universities and some 2,000 companies in Germany.
GJU project manager and university rector Professor Manuela Schwartz sees one reason for the funding, among other things: “This network significantly contributes to securing skilled workers in Germany. ”
An additional €412,000 will be used in 2024 to strengthen international mobility, further education and the development of the joint international master's programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management. This joint project between h2 and GJU is also an important contribution to securing skilled workers and raising the university's international profile.
