From May 27 to 29, 2025, this year's German Week took place at the German Jordanian University (GJU) — an annual highlight that celebrates close German-Jordanian university cooperation and friendship. The GJU Project Office was also present and was represented by Project Manager and Rector of Magdeburg-Stendal University Prof. Dr. Manuela Schwartz, Director of the Ruth Pappenhagen Project Office, and Marie Dierck, Student Relations Manager. Together, they represented Magdeburg-Stendal University as a strategic partner university of the GJU and the project office, which coordinates and supports the German dimension of GJU as part of university cooperation.

In addition to the project office, numerous other partner universities from Germany were on site, including the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences, Fulda University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Siegen, the Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena and the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences.

The opportunity to exchange ideas with interested students, who reported in German how they are preparing for their year abroad in Germany was particularly nice. Many are excited, happy and nervous about their time in Germany and are looking forward to a variety of things, such as the bicycle-friendly cities or the good public transport connections.

An atmospheric highlight was the joint dinner on campus on Wednesday evening. Representatives of partner institutions as well as students and GJU employees came together here to celebrate the successes of their joint work — and what they still want to achieve together in the future.
