Lisa Westphal | Corporate Manager, GJU Project Office
As soon as I stepped into the AUTO1 Group’s headquarters in Berlin-Kreuzberg, I immediately realised why the company is regarded as one of the most exciting employers in the mobility and tech sectors. The AUTO1 Group is Europe’s leading digital automotive platform for buying, selling and fi nancing used cars. Right at reception, I was warmly welcomed by Maryam Anwar, an intern in Talent Acquisition, and David Westa, Junior Talent Acquisition Manager. Both took plenty of time to tell me about the company, its working culture and the wide range of opportunities available to students.
The head office is located in the heart of the lively Bergmannkiez neighbourhood in Kreuzberg – an area known for its cultural diversity, numerous cafés, restaurants and market halls, as well as its proximity to Tempelhofer Feld. Even on the way to the office, you can sense the unique atmosphere of this neighbourhood – where modern working practices meet the international fl air of a big city.
International. Dynamic. And yet personal. I was particularly impressed by the company's size and dynamism. Around 1000 people work at the Berlin site alone, with approximately 2,500 employees across Germany and over 8,600 across Europe. Despite its size, the working environment felt open and personal, and surprisingly informal. I also noticed that the corporate culture has a very international feel to it. Employees from 110 nationalities work together on projects here, contributing their different perspectives.
Diversity brings people together. Internship opportunities across a wide range of disciplines
The AUTO1 Group has been an official Corporate Partner of the GJU Project Office since February 2026. This gives students at the German Jordanian University the
opportunity to complete their compulsory internship as part of their Germany Year within a modern, international company. This opportunity is particularly relevant for students of computer science, computer and IT engineering, management, international accounting, business intelligence and data analytics, logistics, mechatronics, and mechanical and industrial engineering.
The wide range of disciplines available at the AUTO1 Group demonstrates just how diverse the career opportunities are. Alongside traditional business roles, technical and digital skills are particularly important. Those interested in digitalisation, data analysis or technical processes will fi nd an exciting and varied working environment here, offering great opportunities for professional and personal growth.
An environment for development and cooperation
During my visit, I realised that at the AUTO1 Group, professional performance is not the only thing that counts; initiative, openness and team spirit are important too. The international corporate culture and modern working practices provide a setting in which young people can flourish.
